General Entrance Requirements

You must meet the general entrance requirements specified on this page, and the programme-specific entrance requirements.

 

Bachelor's Degree Programmes

For those who are applying on the basis of HKALE:

  • E in HKALE Chinese Literature, or E in HKALE(AS-Level) Chinese Language & Culture, or (for applicants who have not taken Chinese since Secondary Five) D in an HKCEE language other than Chinese and English;
    AND
  • E in HKALE(AS-Level) Use of English;
    AND
  • E in two other HKALE subjects, or E in one other HKALE subject and two other HKALE(AS-Level) subjects;
    AND
  • E in five HKCEE subjects.*

For those who are applying on the basis of other qualifications:

  • An appropriate Higher Certificate (as specified in the individual programme entries where appropriate) from PolyU or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education.
    OR
  • An appropriate Diploma (as specified in the individual programme entries where appropriate) from PolyU or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, with either a Credit or Pass at Merit Level in at least three Level III subjects.
    OR
  • An appropriate Higher Diploma/Associate Degree from a recognised institution (suitable candidates will be considered for advanced standing entry to the senior year curriculum).
 

Higher Diploma Programmes

For those who are applying on the basis of HKALE:

  • E in one HKALE subject or E in two HKALE(AS-Level) subjects;
    AND
  • E in six HKCEE subjects including English Language (Syllabus B)* and Chinese Language* or Chinese Literature, or (for applicants who have not taken Chinese since Secondary Five) a language other than Chinese and English.

    *  For attempts at English Language and Chinese Language in 2007 and after, at least Level 2 is required.

For those who are applying on the basis of other qualifications:

  • An appropriate Higher Certificate or Diploma (as specified in the individual programme entries where appropriate) from PolyU or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education.
