For a more broad-based education, PolyU offers double-degree programmes and major/minor options to full-time undergraduates.
Multidisciplinary Studies
Through the double-degree programmes, students have the opportunity to undertake studies in 2 disciplines. Students graduating with double degrees will have broader and stronger capacities to practice in the 2 professions.
Apart from the discrete 4-year double-degree programmes, some of our single-discipline degree programmes offer study options that lead to double degrees. Students who are admitted to these single discipline Bachelor's degree programmes will be given the option to study for one more single discipline degree by taking on an extra year of study.

# The BA(Hons) in Fashion Technology is offered within the BA(Hons) Scheme in Fashion and Textiles.
* This double-degree option is only available for students of BA(Hons) in Fashion Technology.
^ This double-degree option is only available for students of BEng(Hons) in Civil Engineering to pursue a full BEng(Hons) in Civil Engineering and a major in BSc(Hons) in Investment Science.
The normal duration of study is 4 years full-time (3 years government-funded and 1 year self-financed). However, specific programmes may offer exemptions, and recognition from professional bodies may require an extended period of study beyond the normal duration of 4 years. Academic departments will advise students of the actual credit requirements for the pathway(s) offered after admission. You must, however, satisfy the entrance requirements of both disciplines. For further information on the double-degree programmes, you can contact the respective academic departments.
Major/Minor Combinations
A Major/Minor combination is a programme in which the major component is in one discipline and the minor component is in another. Major programmes are developed from related single-discipline degree programmes. Other than choosing a Minor programme, you can also opt for a collection of free Electives in any combination of disciplines in conjunction with a Major programme. At the end of your studies, if you have fulfilled the requirements of a Major programme and a Minor programme, you will graduate with a Major and a Minor. If you take free Electives in place of a Minor, you will only graduate with a Major.
The following Bachelor's degree programmes offer the option for major/minor combinations.
